In class we are reviewing Parts of Speech, writing responses, and improving on our reading comprehension. Short stories such as "Viva New Jersey" and "Hatchet" are a few stories we will be reading to learn and improve on how to use our reading strategies. 

We are now currently working on the unit with Fractions. We are able to find the GCF & LCM of two numbers. We also will be adding, subtracting, multiplying, & dividing fractions with like and unlike denominators, along with Prime Factorization. 

In Science we are working with density. Students will be finding the mass, volume, and density of certain objects. Students will be able to explain why things float or sink. We will be using triple Beam balance, graduated cyclinders, and cubes to find measurement.

We are learning about the Civil War. What were the causes of the war. The North and South's views on slavery. The imporatnt people and battles in the Civil War.
